Welcome to Peter Lyne’s Web Site
The former Bristol Boys Soccer Coach is still ‘On the ball!’
Since Peter left his job as a teacher of Physical and Religious Education in 1966, he has pioneered the Gospel of the Kingdom in the UK and many different parts of the world. Married to Linda in 1971, they helped found the Bristol Christian Fellowship from their home in the Old Quaker Meeting House in the village of Olveston. Since 1977, New Zealand has also been a significant part of their future. Initially, they helped Hudson Salisbury and his team establish the Christian Fellowship in Upper Hutt on the edge of the Capital City, Wellington. From 1980 to 1983 a very exciting three years was spent re-shaping the Valley Road Baptist Church in Central Auckland.
Two extended spells followed in Bristol and Auckland, then, in 1992, they moved back to the UK to lead the New Generation Church, Sidcup, and join the Pioneer Team at the invitation of their old friend, Gerald Coates. Sidcup is a London suburb in the Borough of Bexley, and the story of the remarkable transition that took place there is told in Peters book Baton Change – the Next Generation. New Gen and Global Generation Church, Ramsgate, are pioneering a new wave of Culture focussed Churches in the UK. Annual visits by Peter, to provide intensive teaching and Leadership Training are proving fruitful. It’s so exciting to see what these Churches are accomplishing. During this season, Peter was also Chairman of two great National Celebrations sponsored by the Pioneer Team, The Event for Revival and The Event for History Makers, attracting capacity crowds to the Royal Norfolk Showground.
Since 1999, they have re-located back to New Zealand where they now have a tally of 8 Grandchildren with number 9 due in October, all living very close to them in New Zealand. For seven years they were part of the new Church Plant in St. Paul’s Church, Symonds Street, led by Mike and Bex Norris and a Team from St. Mary’s, Bryanston Square, London. Recently, they have joined Greg and Linda Burson at The Edge, Kingsland, very close to Eden Park, where the Rugby World Cup final kicked off in October 2011. This Church has a fantastic focus on Worship and Prophecy and is having increasing influence in the Nation.
Linda works as a receptionist at the Balmoral Medical Centre, Dominion Road, Auckland. Peter does Relief Teaching at Selwyn College, a High School with more than 70 different nationalities, reflecting Auckland’s increasing multi-cultural Status. At the beginning of Baton Change, they have recorded the words of Psalm 71 verses 17-18 which is still Peter and Linda’ primary ambition!
Since my youth,O god,you have taught me,and to this day I declare your marvellous deeds.
Even when I am old and grey, do not forsake me, O God, till I declare your power TO THE NEXT GENERATION,
your might to all who are to come.
